Quotes from Manuscript Reviewers
Highly respected and accomplished PhD’s who reviewed all, or portions, of the manuscript, both during preparation as well as when completed, offered the following comments.

The North America Model The North America Model

Dr. James E. Midgley, University of Michigan School of Engineering 3 degrees in 4 years with a 4.0 grade average, Cal Tech PhD in plasma physics and tenured University of Texas at Dallas mathematics professor (Ret). When asked to review the manuscript, Dr. Midgley said he would like to; but he warned that he had "studied every model out there".

"It's a winner! You have a great thesis and it couldn't be presented more convincingly. It should be published, and I have no suggestions for changes."

The North America Model The North America Model

Dr. Ronald W. Walker, Stanford University, University of Utah PhD in history, tenured BYU history professor and noted LDS author of titles such as Massaacre at Mountain Meadows, The Prophet and the Reformer, etc. Dr. Walker followed the progress of the model from the Base Model through all of the Appendices.  It is with sadness to have to report that Dr. Walker passed away May, 2016.

"Please keep going with your research. It looks promising. Certainly we need new perspectives. You've done fine work. I hope that your project may go successfully forward."

Dr. S. Kent Brown, BYU emeritus professor of Ancient Scripture and a noted near eastern studies expert. Dr. Brown reviewed Part I of the manuscript that addressed the journey of Lehi and his family from Jerusalem to the land of Promise, which included the river Laman and the valley of Lemuel along the Gulf of Aqaba in Arabia as he reported through the Neal Maxwell Institute.  Part I established the credibility of the Book of Mormon as a viable resource for geography according to the detail provided in I Nephi 2:5-6 compared to aerial imagery provided by Google Maps.  Dr. Brown commented on my analysis of his work on Lehi’s travels in Arabia which tweaked his analysis of the portion of the journey from Aqaba to the river Laman
It convinced me that the Book of Mormon could be depended upon for geography details in the land of promise.

”I find your suggestion about the three days of travel (to the river Laman) to be intriguing….That view shortens the distance that the family traveled 75 miles to a more reasonable distance.”

“I will be the first in line to buy your book! I’ve been waiting 40 years to receive this information ever since I was baptised in 1969.”
Jacksonville, FL

“Great work! Great possibility that the events took place in the sites as presented. It surely helped me to visualize now as I study the BOM. “
Jacksonville, FL

"I think he nailed it."  Comment by a scholar of Hebrew literature overheard after the lecture.
Jacksonville, FL

“It’s like a trial! Where there is no witness but the circumstantial evidence is overwhelming. Your presentation convinced me. I read a book quite a few years ago, but I wasn’t convinced till now.”
Plano, TX

“It makes you grasp the whole story when you understand the geography in this way. It helps you understand them and know them in a more personal level. I look forward to a book to allow me time to let it all sink in. It is a lot of info all in an hour or so.“
Plano, TX

“Fascinating presentation! This does reshape my thinking. Thank you for your very thorough study.”
Salt Lake City, UT

“This was great! I’ve read the Book of Mormon 35 times, and this is fascinating.”
Salt Lake City, UT

“I will study the Book of Mormon with or without a geographical understanding. But this understanding will enrich study and make it more enjoyable.”
Louisburg, KS

"Having heard your presentation, I am eager to reread & plot this for myself.  However, I ALWAYS believed they sailed to our eastern shores."
Bangor ME

"I think this would be a great way to get someone to read the BoM. People are always asking, "Where's your proof?"  It's easy to explain travels from the Old and New Testament.  I've always wanted to show someone where the BoM events took place to help explain battles.  Now I can!"
Bangor ME

"I have always wondered where all these cities were in the BoM. Very interesting that you have studied this out."
Bangor, ME

"Thank you, Bro. Midgley, for this great presentation.  Certainly it helps visualize the stories of the Book of Mormon to know where these events might have taken place and to walk where these ancient people walked."
Bangor ME

“I fully expected to NOT believe one word of Brother Midgley's presentation. I'm so pleased that I attended, and I believe every word!"
Lindon, Utah Valley, Utah

"This presentation was so very different from what I've seen and heard in the past. I had seen the presentation starting in South America and identifying Moroni's travels through the USA to the Hill cumorah.  Very interesting!"
Salt Lake City, UT

"It all fits. Much the same way as my introduction to the gospel.  (fits = makes sense and fills in the missing pieces.)"
Jacksonville FL

"I'm eager to learn more about the places described in the model, because I believe it will help me appreciate the people whose history is recorded there."
Jacksonville FL

"This was the best illustration, and I loved it."
Jackeonville FL
